RANGO Contacts New Minister of Transport ...

On December 6, 2015 RANGO sent a letter to the new Minister of Transport, the Honourable Marc Garneau. It outlines residents' frustration with the current engagement process and seeks an opportunity to present workable solutions. Local MPs were copied.

On January 13, 2016, the Minister's Office provided the reply below.  Not very satisfactory but it gives us a starting point. The situation with the new Federal Administration is obviously much as it was with the previous Administration and we virtually start again at the beginning.

RECENT INITIATIVES BY TORONTO AVIATION NOISE GROUP


This residents’ organisation is growing in response to the unjust noise brought on by growth in Pearson airport business and NAV CANADA’s decision to concentrate traffic over our neighbourhoods at all hours of the day and night, causing us great concerns for health and property enjoyment.     TANG has been  very active in garnering political support for a review of changes made by NAV Canada in February 2012.  View their website

RANGO raises concerns of residents of the Region of Halton with air noise and requests a meeting to explain our position and offer solutions.

On January 14, 2016, a response from Ms. Hillary Marshall, Vice President Stakeholder Relations and Communications was received in response to the letter addressed to Mr. B. Herner.  This response did not address the request for a meeting with the Halton Region member of the GTAA Board, in that context a further request for such a meeting has been sent. As RANGO did not feel that our points were adequately addressed a second letter was sent on February 16, 2016. . Read the letter here
